2024 Waypoint Community Involvement Recap

Our Branches Were Busy in Their Communities in 2024

Cozad

Tim Sladek, President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board at Waypoint Bank, proudly presented a $1,000 donation to Tami Thurn at the Cozad Grand Generation Center. Each year, the Board of Directors chooses to forgo gifts in order to contribute to a local group or cause. cozad grand generation center gift

Mandy won Miss Cozad Volunteer of the Year in 2024. Mandy is an active member of several community organizations including Cozad Chamber of Commerce, Cozad Community Leaders, and the City of Cozad Parks and Recreation Board. 

The Cozad branch also hosted Maker Monday’s for the second year in a row, giving youth entrepreneurs an opportunity to sell their goods. This event was highly successful and is planned to continue in 2025.

The branch sponsored Little League teams and Eric Zimbelman, Assistant Vice President, coached a team.

They created Hay Days and Winter Wonderland parade floats.

The bank has given donations to the Robert Henri Museum, Give Big Cozad, participated and donated to Red Day for Cozad Community Foundation, and the Cozad Hospital Fall Ball Fundraiser. They have donated to numerous other organizations such as the Charitable Fund of Cozad, Cozad Community Foundation Sports Complex, Grand Generation Center, Dawson County Cattleman, and various golf fundraisers.

Cambridge

The Cambridge branch sponsored a March Madness style reading contest with the Butler Memorial Library. Children who read 16 books and voted on their favorites received a basketball.

Bank employees volunteered throughout April to support the Cambridge Meals on Wheels program.

Bank employees attended Cambridge High School’s Career Fair to expose students to the benefits of a banking career.

The branch donated $1,000 to the Main Street Revival project’s new mural. Main Street Revival is the driving force behind a series of beautification and preservation projects in Cambridge.

The Cambridge branch made a donation to the McKinley All-Inclusive Playground. They are the sponsors of the Cobra Curved slide! 

 

 

Imperial

The Imperial branch was a sponsor for the Annual Slice Fore Life Golf Tournament supporting the Chase County Hospital Foundation. They also sponsored Casino Night which takes place in February and supports the Chase County Hospital Foundation as well.

They also hosted the Hot Dog Days of Summer put on by the Imperial Chamber of Commerce and served hundreds of hot dogs to folks in the community.

The branch also volunteered as a team in various capacities at the Chase County Fair.

Imperial also likes to welcome the community in with various games and giveaways throughout the year!

Fort Collins

Our Northern Colorado Branch President, David Besch & his wife, Steffani Besch, attended the Hearts and Horses 24th Annual Lucky Hearts Gala! This event raised over $650,000.

The branch celebrated Oktoberfest with a party featuring local beer, brats, and fun. It was a great way to get the community together to celebrate with food and fun.

Waypoint Bank – Fort Collins was a table host for the Life for the Innocent Gala on April 27. This event raised over $370,000 to help children rescued from human trafficking.

David Besch and Bob Lucia attended the WomenGive Golf Fundraiser which raised over $32,000 for single mothers in the Northern Colorado community.

 

 

Colorado Springs

The Colorado Springs branch supports the Pikes Peak Rangerettes. This group promotes horsemanship, sportsmanship, and citizenship among young women in the Pikes Peak Region.

Team members volunteered at the Care and Share Food Bank for Southern Colorado‘s distribution warehouse. Care and Share is the food bank for Southern Colorado and distributes food donations through 293 food pantries and meal programs across 29 counties.

David Besch and Bob Lucia attended the WomenGive Golf Fundraiser which raised over $32,000 for single mothers in the Northern Colorado community. 

Eustis

Branch Manager, Tristan Newcomb, organized a Youth Farmers Market this summer giving young entrepreneurs a chance to sell their wares. 

The bank opened the Stampede Branch located at Eustis-Farnam Elementary School. The 6th grade students worked as bank tellers.

The Eustis branch donated school supplies to the town’s school supply drive at the beginning of the school year.

Clay Center

Clay Center staff supported their local high school football team, the Sandy Creek Cougars, as they became State Champs. cougar state champs

James Martin, Loan Officer, was active in the Team Mates mentorship program at Sandy Creek Schools.

The branch sponsored Hole in Ones at local golf tournaments as well as Bingo Night at a local golf course.

The branch volunteers in various ways in the community. They are involved in the Connecting the Dots program which teaches sophomores in area high schools about future careers.

They also donated $1,000 to their local EMTS to go towards the purchase of a new ambulance.

James and Jessie, Branch Manager, volunteered many hours helping at  Clay Center Child Care

The Clay Center team provided a game and prizes for the annual Christmas Around the Square event.
