Bankers, brats and beer: An annual recipe for Oktoberfest fun!

Customers at Waypoint Bank never need a special reason to stop in and chat.

An afternoon cookout recently provided an extra incentive, when some 150 friends and neighbors dropped by the Waypoint Bank – Fort Collins parking lot to taste German tradition.

On September 26, the branch held its annual Oktoberfest customer appreciation gathering, complete with grilled bratwurst, beer from the Fort Collins Tap Truck, music, and a banker dressed in lederhosen.

Waypoint Bank – Fort Collins Oktoberfest continues a 200-year-old tradition

Oktoberfest is the annual fall festival in the Bavarian region of Germany that showcases German beer, food, and music. It is a multi-week event that dates back to 1810 and today draws millions of visitors to Munich.

And with some help from their building neighbors, including Ryan Carter from Edward Jones along with Joe Whitlock and Chris Murphy at MWG Brokers, they showed how to roll out the barrel in real Bavarian style. Of course, the star of the show was the bank’s own Dave Besch, Branch President and Northern Colorado Market Manager, who dressed for the occasion in a classic outfit of lederhosen and trachten hut, or Alpine hat.

Look for Dave and his team to be back with Oktoberfest again next fall, though customer appreciation is always in season.

“It was a great event, and we reconnected with some people we haven’t seen in a while,” explained Besch. “It lets folks know we are here and looking to help them navigate through their financial and economic seasons of life.”
