We’re Adding Fraud Text Alerts—Here’s What You Need to Know

At Waypoint Bank, your financial security is our top priority. For years, we’ve assured our customers that we would never text you—and that promise was rooted in protecting you from fraud and scams.

Starting April 30, 2025, that’s changing—but with your safety in mind.

Why the Change?

Fraudsters are getting more sophisticated, and we want to stay one step ahead. That’s why we’re introducing text message alerts for suspected fraud activity on your debit card. It’s a faster, more secure way to notify you the moment we spot something unusual—so you can act immediately.

What to Expect

  • Starting April 30, if we detect suspicious activity on your Waypoint Bank debit card, you’ll receive a code text message from 37-268 (not a regular phone number).
  • The message will ask you to verify whether the transaction was yours—with a simple YES or NO reply.
  • If you reply “NO,” a temporary block will be placed on your card, and you’ll receive a phone number to call immediately.
  • And if you don’t respond within 15 minutes, a phone call will be placed to you to verify the transaction.

How to Know It’s Really Us

We understand how important it is to trust the messages you receive. Here’s how to spot a legitimate fraud alert from Waypoint Bank:

  • We’ll never ask for your account number, PIN, or personal information via text.
  • Our messages will be short, direct, and only about suspicious activity.
  • If you’re ever unsure, call your local Waypoint Bank branch—we’re always here to help.

No Action Needed—Yet

If your current contact information is up to date, you’re all set. But if you’ve recently changed phone numbers, now is a great time to let us know.

We’re making this change with your security in mind. It’s one more way we’re combining hometown values with modern tools—so you can bank with confidence.

Questions? Reach out to your local Waypoint Bank branch. We’re always happy to help.
