Cozad born, raised, and educated Xavier Chinchilla is finishing his stellar senior year at Cozad High School by receiving a top scholarship, the Hagan Merit Scholorship that provides up to $7,500 each semester for four years!
Xavier started with us here in Cozad as a part-time teller in 2020, the summer after his freshman year. It has been a joy for staff and customers alike to get to know him. His favorite part about working at Waypoint Bank is his supportive co-workers, who have always been there for him “and are very kind and funny. They make the place feel like a second home and I am always excited to go work,” Xavier said.
He will graduate in May and plans to attend University of Nebraska Omaha and major in Business Administration. “We couldn’t be much more excited about Xavier being awarded this prestigious scholarship,” said Jessica Beisner, Waypoint Bank – Cozad Vice President. “We’ve been impressed with him throughout his time here, and look forward to following his career.”
Both staff and customers revel in his accomplishments, including seeing him be accepted into National Honor Society, being awarded district champion for a one act play his sophomore year, and receiving first place in the Custer County Senior High quiz bowl.
When he is not attending or studying for school, he enjoys playing tennis and golf with friends, and he also will play video games when he has time.
Xavier plans to graduate from the University of Nebraska Omaha with a degree in Business Administration, and hopes to eventually become the administrator of a hospital or care home. He hopes to continue to play golf in his free time and plans to become an active member of his community.
Please join all of the Waypoint Bank family in recognizing and congratulating such a worthy graduating high school senior.
