We’ve always known that Derek Downer, Branch President of Waypoint Bank – Cambridge, had the right stuff to be an outstanding leader. Now the Nebraska Bankers Association has seen it too.
Derek was recently selected for the class of 2026 NBA Leadership Program, a two-year development program that selects highly motivated mid- to upper-level bankers. It prepares them to understand and respond to local and national issues impacting the banking industry and their communities.
“It’s a privilege to be included in the NBA Leadership Program and to be a part of such a talented group of bankers,” Derek shares.
“These bankers have helped shape the direction of the NBA and strengthen the banking industry in Nebraska,” said NBA President and CEO Richard Baier. “We are grateful for their time, insight, and commitment to our association.
